Hermoddocs

Getting started

From signup to your first RPC call in under five minutes.

This guide walks you through making your first JSON-RPC call against Hermod RPC. By the end you will have an api key, know both ways to send it, and be able to read a block.

Create an account

Go to endpoint.originstake.com/signup, sign up with email, and verify the link we send you. The free plan starts immediately with 5M compute units per month, no payment required.

Mint an api key

Open the dashboard at endpoint.originstake.com/dashboard/keys and click New key. Give it a name (e.g. local dev), confirm, and copy the full key the moment it appears.

We only show the secret value once. If you lose it, revoke the key and mint a new one. The masked prefix in the dashboard is for identification, not auth.

Keys look like originrpc_live_ followed by a random suffix. Treat them like a password.

Send your first request

Two ways to authenticate. Pick whichever your client supports more naturally.

Drop-in compatible with clients that take an Alchemy-style URL:

curl https://infra.originstake.com/pharos/evm/originrpc_live_YOUR_KEY \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"eth_blockNumber","params":[]}'

Wire the same URL into ethers, viem, web3.py, or any standard JSON-RPC client.

A successful response looks like:

{ "jsonrpc": "2.0", "id": 1, "result": "0x1a2b3c" }

Wire it into your app

Read the endpoints reference for the full path layout, timeouts, and what the gateway handles on your behalf (failover, hot-path caching). When you go to production, also read rate limits and errors.
